Hougang add a fourth import as signing spree continues

Hougang United’s signing spree shows no signs of slowing down after they added Spaniard Pablo Rodriguez to their squad for the 2017 season.

Hougang now have four foreign players to call upon, including Japanese standouts Fumiya Kogure and Atsushi Shirota and Italian forward Antoine Viterale.

The 31-year-old Rodriguez will move over from Indonesia side Madura United, with whom he scored 14 goals last season

Under current regulations, each S.League team is only allowed to register and field three foreign players at any one time.

However, Hougang can bypass this rule by registering 20-year-old Viterale in the under-21 Prime League squad.

The 31-year-old Rodriguez will move over from Indonesian side Madura United, with whom he scored 14 goals last season and was a fan favourite.

Rodriguez was also a former youth graduate of Spanish clubs Levante UD and Valencia CF, before playing professionally in the lower tiers of the Spanish league.

"Thank you for having me at Hougang United Football Club. I hope to have a good performance with the team, do well for the club and to have a good season ahead,” Rodriguez said in a club release.
