Hougang fill up one foreign slot with former Serie A trainee

Hougang United have moved to snap up French-Italian forward Antoine Viterale for the 2017 season.

The 20-year-old formerly signed for Swiss side FC Lugano U-18, before breaking into RDC Espanyol’s youth ranks.

He would later move to Chievo Verona in the Serie A before switching to Hellas Verona.

Viterale arrived in Singapore in September and had trials with Hougang, playing against MISC-MIFA and DRB Hicom. He scored twice in both games before earning a training stint with Garena Young Lions towards the end of the season.

The 1.80m’s will take up Hougang’s last of three foreign import slots, with Fumiya Kogure and Atsushi Shirota already with the Cheetahs.

However, he can still be registered as a Prime League player due to his age, allowing Hougang the chance to sign one more foreign player.

Hougang are still reportedly in the market for more big signings, with Khairul Amri a potential Cheetah.
