New Toffees to sweeten Barclays Asia Trophy
Cleverley, who helped Manchester United to the 2012-13 Barclays Premier League title and spent last season on loan at Aston Villa, has penned a five-year contract with the Merseyside club.
Deulofeu will be donning Evertonian blue for the second time, having starred on-loan in Roberto Martinez’s debut season at the helm in 2013-14, when the Toffees finished fifth.
The former Barcelona attacker spent last season at Sevilla, but has since penned a permanent deal with Everton, with the Toffees paying £4.2 million for the Spaniard.
The duo will form part of a strong Everton squad for the four-team tournament in Singapore, alongside the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Kevin Mirallas, Ross Barkley, Tim Howard and Phil Jagielka.
Captain Leighton Baines, plus Darron Gibson and Bryan Oviedo – who were all injured towards the end of the 2014-15 campaign – will sit out the tour.
Martinez’s troops battled to an 11th-place finish last season, but the manager feels a trip to Southeast Asia will help get the Toffees back up the table this coming season.
Arsenal, Stoke City and a Singapore Select XI will also participate in the tournament, commencing on July 15 at Singapore’s National Stadium.
"I'm very excited because … a trip to Singapore gives an opportunity to work in a different manner," Martinez said.
"We're heading to something completely different that I do feel is going to be perfect in trying to reach a really competitive level, quicker than any other pre-season, due to the pedigree of this tournament.
"When you are abroad it is different. We are going to compete for a trophy and it's the opportunity to get into a final and then you are facing opposition that is going to be very helpful to reach a physical level that is going to help us start the season well.
“There's a real positive to face Premier League opposition when you are in a tournament of this magnitude."
Everton will face Stoke City in the opening match before the Gunners take on the Singapore Select XI.
The two winning teams then face-off in the final on July 18, with the other two sides competing for third.
Everton will take a 24-strong party to Singapore, which also includes under-21 trio Brendan Galloway, Conor McAleny and Tyias Browning.
John Stones and Luke Garbutt, who competed in England’s under-21 European Championships campaign, will also make the trip.
