S.League Player of the Year nominee Ilso leaves Home United

Home United's foreign striker Ken Ilso will depart the club after two goal-laden years in the S.League.

The club made the announcement via its Facebook page that the 31-year-old will not extend his stay in the S.League despite being offered an extension.

After protracted negotiations, Ken has decided to explore other opportunities

“The club (Home United) wishes to announce that 31-year-old forward Ken Ilso will be leaving HUFC at the end of this year after two successful years with the club,” the statement read.

“After protracted negotiations, Ken has decided to explore other opportunities.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank Ken for his dedication and we wish him well in his future endeavours.”

Ilso scored 46 goals in 54 appearances for the Protectors and was shortlisted for the S.League Player of the Year award twice in a row.

He came close to securing silverware in his first season, but Home fell short in the 2015 Singapore Cup final when they were beaten 2-1 by Albirex Niigata (S).

It's understood the Danish striker's preference is to remain in Asia and find another opportunity in the region.
