Sultan of Johor gifts JDT an aircraft

Following an earlier gift of RM50million, Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) will now receive a private jet from the Sultan of Johor after an announcement by the club on Tuesday.

Malaysian giants Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) will travel in style next year after the Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar gifted the club a Gulfstream 550 airplane.

The 2015 AFC Cup and Malaysia Super League (MSL) winners said in a statement that the private jet will be ready for delivery in middle of 2017.

His Majesty presented the football club with a Gulfstream 550 which will be utilised by club officials and players. With this presentation, JDT creates history yet again by being the first club in the country to own its own aircraft," read a statement on the club's Facebook page.

Earlier this year, Sultan Ibrahim provided the Southern Tigers with a cash injection of RM50million following their sterling performance in the AFC Cup. JDT are also expected to move to a new stadium in Nusajaya at the end of 2017.
