The BBC will show live coverage of England’s World Cup last 32 game against DR Congo, with live coverage from 4pm ahead of kick-off at 5pm.

Millions of fans will be tuning in straight after work, ready to watch the Three Lions’ first knockout match of the tournament.

The hope will be for an improvement on the performances against Ghana and Panama against an equally resilient DR Congo side. Who will be providing commentary and analysis of the game for the BBC?

BBC commentators and pundits for England vs DR Congo

The match will be played in Atlanta, where the players will mercifully be sheltered from the hot weather by a roof and air conditioning at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Mark Chapman will present coverage of the match from the BBC studio.

He will be joined by former England and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney on punditry, who was the Three Lions' all-time leading scorer until his record was snatched away by Harry Kane.

Micah Richards, who was capped 13 times by England, will bring his lighthearted perspective to the studio.

And ex-England goalkeeper Joe Hart makes up the trio, presumably hopeful that he will assess another Jordan Pickford clean sheet.

The BBC’s leading duo of Guy Mowbray and Alan Shearer will be on commentary.

Kelly Somers is on reporter duty, bringing the latest news and updates from the England camp.

And ex-referee Darren Cann will provide his expertise on any VAR or officiating talking points.

After ITV got the first pick of England's World Cup matches and broadcast a memorable 4-2 win against Croatia, it's over to the BBC to provide coverage of Tuesday's clash with Ghana.

The pressure has been lifted somewhat, with Thomas Tuchel's side now in pole position to top Group L.

But fans will still be tuning in with high expectations as England look to make it two wins from two. Who will be providing commentary and analysis of the game for the BBC?

BBC commentators and pundits for England vs Ghana

The match will be played in Boston, where the temperatures are considerably cooler than back home in England. Coverage on BBC One begins at 8pm UK time, with kick-off at 9pm.

Gabby Logan will be the lead presenter from the BBC studio.

She will be joined by a trio of pundits, all ex-England internationals.

Wayne Rooney, England’s second-most capped player of all time, will give his assessment of the game.

Former Three Lions No.1 Joe Hart, meanwhile, will provide a goalkeeper’s perspective of the action.

Finally, Micah Richards will provide some levity if things go badly, as well as some shrewd analysis of England’s defensive setup, of course.

The familiar voice of Guy Mowbray will be on commentary, with former England striker Alan Shearer alongside him.

Euro 2024 reaches its conclusion on Sunday night as Spain and England fight it out for the famous trophy in Berlin.

Match 51 sees three-time European champions Spain seeking a first continental crown since 2012 as England continue their search for a first major honour in men's football since 1966, having lost the final of Euro 2020 on penalties to Italy.

Who are the BBC commentators for Spain vs England?

In the commentary box for Spain versus England on Sunday will be Guy Mowbray, who has worked with the BBC since 2004, having previously featured for both ITV and Eurosport. Mowbray has also worked with BT Sport (now TNT Sports) since 2015.

He will be joined on commentary duty by former England striker Alan Shearer on Sunday. The Newcastle United legend is the Premier League's all-time top scorer with 260 goals and netted 30 times in 63 appearances for the Three Lions.

In addition, journalist Kelly Somers and former Lionesseses defender Alex Scott will be working as reporters during the match coverage on Sunday.

Who are the BBC pundits for Spain vs England?

BBC One coverage of Spain versus England in the final of Euro 2024 will be led by Gary Lineker, who admitted ahead of the game that he has not yet attended a match at the continental competition. The former England captain, who scored 48 goals in 90 games for the Three Lions, will be in the stadium for this one.

Lineker will be joined by former Manchester United and England centre-back Rio Ferdinand, while ex-Manchester City and Three Lions defender Micah Richards will also be on punditry duty for the Euro 2024 final.

There will be some Spanish representation, too, with former Spain midfielder Juan Mata giving perspective on La Roja. Mata played in England with Manchester United and Chelsea and was part of the Spain squads which won the World Cup in 2010 and Euro 2012 two years later. He also won two Euros at youth level with La Roja.

History is being made in Dortmund on Tuesday afternoon with Georgia playing their first-ever match at a major international tournament as Group F gets underway at Euro 2024. 

The BBC are broadcasting the action live from Borussia Dortmund's Signal Iduna Park for the UK audience, with the Georgian newbies, who are the lowest-ranked team in the competition, aiming to stun the 2008 semi-finalists Turkey.

Who are the BBC commentators for Turkey vs Georgia at Euro 2024?

Guy Mowbray will be the BBC's lead commentator for Turkey vs Georgia, with his voice instantly recognisable for British football fans, having commentated on major tournaments since the 1998 World Cup. The 52-year-old also landed a new gig earlier this year when he commentated on the relaunched Gladiators on the BBC.

Mowbray will be joined in the commentary box by former Newcastle United and England midfielder Jermaine Jenas, who is enjoying a busy second career on TV after hanging up his boots in 2014, both in football and entertainment as a regular host on BBC's The One Show.

Meanwhile in the studio, Mark Chapman will be on presenting duties, where he will be joined by a punditing trio consisting of former Wales and Swansea defender Ashley Williams, ex-Manchester City and England right-back Micah Richards, plus Brentford boss Thomas Frank.

First a message from our editor, James Andrew:

If there were ever any doubts about Harry Kane’s move to Bayern Munich, a goal from inside his own half at the end of October surely put any concerns to bed.

That audacious strike against Darmstadt didn’t show any indication whatsoever of a player struggling with his new surroundings, weighed down by a hefty price tag around his neck. Kane is England’s leading goalscorer and was on course to break Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League record before his switch to the Bundesliga.

And remember those faraway days when it was said that Kane couldn’t score in August? Those days are long gone, illustrated by three goals in his first two league games for Bayern. By October 28, he’d scored 14 times, including two hat-tricks – even if Bundesliga bureaucrats appear to keep moving the goalposts over what qualifies as a hat-trick in Germany. It’s not the same as in England, bafflingly.

All in all, he’s doing pretty well, and seems to be settling in just fine off the field too, getting stuck into the Oktoberfest celebrations. It’s a big 12 months for Kane, with the Euros in his new homeland next summer, so FFT caught up with the England captain for an exclusive interview to discover how he’s finding life away from the Premier League.
