Major League Soccer kicked off its 2016 season in wild fashion on Sunday, cramming 10 games into 11 hours across the U.S. and Canada to give American soccer supporters an out-of-body experience.

There were red cards - game-changing ejections, as they often seem to be - and there was stoppage-time drama. In total, there were a record 36 goals scored and while the defending was suspect at times (our condolences, Chicago Fire and NYCFC fans), there were some spectacular goals to ring in the new season. Here are our seven favorites from opening day:
