The Ultimate Collector’s Guide for the 2025-26 Season
The website that gives fans the opportunity to own a piece of football history

The new season is upon us and that can mean only one thing: new kits. This really is a blessed time of year for the football shirt collectors – and boy, does the 2025-26 campaign look more exciting than ever.
Whether it be Liverpool returning to Adidas, your favourite big-name signing turning out in their new club colours or a unique connection to a shirt that is bafflingly inexplicable to everybody apart from you… this season will be one of the all-timers for collecting kits.
But the football memorabilia market is a global, multi-million pound beast these days, and it can be hard to know where to start. That’s why FourFourTwo have teamed up with MatchWornShirt – the leading platform for match-worn and signed football shirts – to bring you this essential collector’s guide for the new season ahead of us.
MatchWornShirt was founded by two Dutch shirt-obsessed brothers, Bob and Tijmen Zonderwijk. After taking weeks trying very hard to find a Davy Klaassen match-worn shirt for their dad, an Ajax supporter, they realised there was a gap in the market for fans who want to very easily and reliably get their hands on genuine worn and signed shirts from the biggest names in the game.
Hundreds of club partners and also thousands of auctions later, and it’s safe to say they really know their stuff when it comes to football shirts.
Here are some of the best moments to look out for this season, as suggested by MatchWornShirt and FourFourTwo.
Florian Wirtz’s Liverpool shirt
He’s probably the Premier League’s biggest signing of the summer, and imagine owning the German’s signed, match-worn shirt from his debut, or the shirt he wears when he scores his first goal. With MatchWornShirt’s auction platform, you can do exactly that.
Expect it to require big money, though. Remember that Chelsea game when Cole Palmer scored four goals against Brighton last season? His shirt was sold for a whopping £34,000!
Antoine Griezmann’s 200th goal shirt
The French forward is approaching the 200-goal mark for his beloved Atletico Madrid – he’s currently just two goals short, on 198, after nine seasons with the club across two spells.
What a moment that will be, and you can bet that fans and collectors around the world will be keeping an eye on Atleti games, with the intention of bidding on the shirt he wears when he hits that milestone goal.
Kevin De Bruyne’s Napoli Serie A shirt
A legend of the game now plying his trade with the Italian champions? It’s romantic. It’s beautiful. It’s the stuff of dreams for shirt lovers. You can picture his name on the iconic Napoli blue, with Scudetto patch, and it could be yours.
Fun fact: Scott McTominay’s shirt from his scissor-kick-scoring, title-clinching game against Cagliari at the end of last season fetched over £20,000 at auction.
Poppy shirts
The eagle-eyed collector will probably have noticed that every Premier League and EFL club wears a poppy on their shirt to mark Remembrance Sunday each season. Limited and unique, these shirts come with a fantastic message, and you can get your hands on the Poppy Appeal collection through MatchWornShirt this year.
There’s also a brilliant charity initiative behind it, with millions of pounds raised for the Royal British Legion charity already, through poppy shirt auctions.
UEFA Super Cup shirts
On August 13, Tottenham Hotspur will face Paris Saint-Germain in the Italian city of Udine, for the UEFA Super Cup.
Spurs have a new manager in Thomas Frank, and will appear in the fixture after clinching the Europa League last term. PSG are a team full of fantastic young talent, and last season were Champions League winners for the first time, after defeating Inter 5-0.
Who will win? The shirt collectors, that’s who. Both of the clubs are official MatchWornShirt partners, meaning that the player-worn and signed shirts (mud, sweat and all) will go up for auction.
A word of caution, though: captain Son Heung-min’s match-issued shirt from the Europa League final victory over Manchester United was later sold to a winning bidder for over £40,000!
So there you have it: just a handful of shirts that collectors should be looking out for this season. There are so many amazing shirts, incredible moments and wonderful memories to be made.
With partners including Chelsea, PSG, Spurs, Napoli, Milan, Liverpool, Porto and many more clubs around the world, MatchWornShirt have got your back if you’re in the game of shirt collecting.
Thanks to their innovative Fabricks technology, every single shirt is verified and given a digital certificate of authenticity, so you know that what you’re buying is the real deal.
