Ishak Belfodil helps Hoffenheim close in on European places

Ishak Belfodil’s brace powered Hoffenheim to a 4-1 win over Bayer Leverkusen on Friday night as they closed the gap on the European places in the Bundesliga.

Belfodil’s opener was quickly cancelled out by Kevin Volland, but after Sven Bender’s own goal restored the hosts’ lead early in the second half, Belfodil struck again and Andrej Kramaric added another to move Hoffenheim to within a point of their opponents.
