French player dies after heart attack
CLERMONT-FERRAND, France - French second division player Clement Pinault died on Thursday four days after suffering a heart attack, his club said.
Pinault, 23, was taken to hospital on Sunday after collapsing at his home and had been in an artificial coma since, club doctor Franck Thiel told reporters.
Defender Pinault played for Clermont two days before his heart attack, a 2-0 Ligue 2 win over Brest, and recent health checks did not suggest any heart problems, Thiel added.
Pinault joined Clermont from Ligue 1 side Le Mans in June.
