Last season's runners-up Chelsea begin their bid to go one better in the Women's Champions League with the visit of two-time competition winners Wolfsburg on Wednesday.
The Blues knocked out the German side in the quarter-finals of last season’s competition, winning 5-1 on aggregate.
It was a sweet moment of revenge for the London club, who had previously been eliminated three times by Wolfsburg.
Chelsea qualified for the group stage automatically as 2020-21 Super League champions, and will face the Frauen-Bundesliga side, Juventus and Servette in Group A.
Emma Hayes’ side come into the game on the back of four consecutive wins in all competitions, but are third in the Super League standings after losing their opening day game at Arsenal.
Wolfsburg are unbeaten in 19 matches in all competitions, a run stretching back to March, but their 14-game winning run was halted by a draw against Freiburg on Saturday.
The Germans won the Champions League in back-to-back seasons in 2013 and 2014, but ceded the German title to Bayern Munich last season.
They beat Bordeaux on penalties to qualify for the group stage following a 5-5 aggregate draw.
Home advantage could help the Blues, who have six wins and one draw in their last seven Champions League games in London, conceding just twice in that time.
