Spurs to decide on Stephen Appiah signing
Tottenham Hotspur are set to make a make a decision this week on whether to sign Ghana captain Stephen Appiah. The 28-year-old midfielder has been training with Spurs over the past month, and is expected to take part in a reserve game against Reading on Wednesday.
The former Parma and Juventus man has been recovering from a long-term knee injury - which forced him to miss the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations - and has been without a club since August after leaving Fenerbahce, for whom he netted 11 goals in 64 league games.
"He has had an injury and his fitness is way below what you'd hope it to be," said Spurs boss Harry Redknapp.
"But he's worked hard so I'll have a look at him and give him a decision because he's been with us for about a month now. He needs to know."
