Jurgen Klopp has steered Liverpool to the Premier League summit in 2018/19, although his Reds side are now second-favourites for the title after dropping two more points at West Ham on Monday night.
It’s taken the bearded one some time to get his team in order – lest we forget that the 51-year-old is now in his fourth year at Anfield – but a more open-minded transfer policy in 2018 certainly helped the Reds to compete on a higher plane.
Klopp infamously responded to Manchester United’s £89m signing of Paul Pogba with the riposte that “I would even do it differently if I could spend that money” – but changed tact with a major outlay on key signings last year, admitting that the landscape had changed. “That’s the problem these days,” he sighed later. “You say something and whatever bulls*** you say, nobody will forget it...”
Overall, Klopp’s record in the transfer market with both Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund has been excellent – and for today's quiz, we're looking for his last 30 signings across both clubs. There are some forgotten souls in among them we’re sure, but plenty more diamonds who went on to great things.
