Liverpool v Southampton live stream, Sky Sports, Saturday 8 May, 8.15pm BST

Liverpool face an uphill battle to qualify for next season’s Champions League and must get a win at home to Southampton on Saturday to keep their faint top four hopes alive.

Jurgen Klopp’s began the weekend in seventh, seven points outside the top four, but they have a game in hand over their main rivals for a top four spot: Tottenham, West Ham, Chelsea and Leicester.

That said, the Reds don’t look likely to make an unexpected late surge up the table as they have struggled for form of late.

Liverpool are without a win in their last three games in all competitions, drawing all three and conceding late equalisers against Newcastle and Leeds in their last two outings.

Their game against Manchester United last weekend was postponed after home fans broke into the stadium and took to the Old Trafford pitch to protest the Glazer family’s ownership of the club in the wake of the Super League debacle.

The game was rearranged for 13 May, leaving Liverpool with a busy run of five games in 15 days before the end of the season.

Saints have been in poor form since the turn of the year and travel to Merseyside on the back of three defeats and a draw in their last four games.

Their safety is not yet mathematically secured, although it looks a safe bet that the St. Mary’s outfit will be playing Premier League football next season as they are 10 points clear of the drop zone and have a game in hand over 18th-placed Fulham.

Kick-off is at 8.15pm BST and the game is being shown on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League. See below for watching details where you are.

Use a VPN to watch a Liverpool v Southampton live stream from outside your country

If you’re on holiday or just simply out of the country, your domestic on-demand services won’t work – the broadcaster knows exactly where you are from your IP address. Your access to the game will be automatically blocked, which is annoying if you’ve paid a subscription fee and don't want to use an illegal, buffering stream that makes you miss another Jose Mourinho tantrum. And that's where we recommend ExpressVPN (more on which below).

All you need to do is get a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to get beyond such aggravations (assuming it complies with your broadcaster’s T&Cs). A VPN creates a private connection between your device and the internet, meaning suppliers can’t work out where you are and what you’re doing. The info going to and from is entirely encrypted.

There are plenty of options out there, including:
