The World Cup's round of 32 draw has thrown up a real David versus Goliath clash.

Argentina will aim to continue their World Cup defence against Cape Verde, which pits the reigning holders against the tournament's feelgood story.

Whichever team emerges successful from the encounter at Miami Stadium is set to face Egypt in Atlanta in the next round on July 7.

The Albiceleste maintained a 100% record in their Group J campaign with captain Lionel Messi scoring six times across the wins over Algeria, Austria and Jordan.

Cape Verde, meanwhile, pulled off one of the early World Cup shocks by sealing an unlikely second-place finish in Group H after a three-match unbeaten streak.

The 67th-ranked nation frustrated one of the current favourites by holding Spain in their opening fixture before also taking points off Uruguay and Saudi Arabia.

Live coverage of their showdown with Argentina is set to be available on ITV1 in the UK from 10:15pm local time with the main event kicking off at 11:00pm.

Mark Pougatch will front the broadcaster's programming from their New York studio with Gary Neville, Ian Wright and Karen Carney alongside him to offer expert analysis.

Neville is a staple of Manchester United's fabled Class of 92, winning 21 trophies in 19 years including eight Premier League titles and the Champions League twice.

The former defender made 400 appearances in his time at Old Trafford and featured at three European Championships and two World Cups with England.

Wright played alongside Neville for their country but only earned 33 caps in nine years despite featuring in Arsenal's double-winning campaign of 1997-98.

Carney rounds off the ITV panel after a successful playing career in the women's game with Arsenal, Chelsea and Birmingham City, as well as England.

Commentator Jon Champion will be talking viewers through the action while former Scotland and Rangers striker Ally McCoist is on-hand with co-commentary.
