Tottenham Hotspur’s ongoing slump has got their legions of fans around the world deeply concerned.
Supporters have been debating the best way forward for a club that has found itself near the nether regions of the Premier League table over the past two seasons. As things stand, Tottenham Hotspur find themselves in 17th position, just a point ahead of West Ham United, with three matches to play.
Among those to voice an opinion on the best way forward for a club which has had three different managers this season alone – Thomas Frank and interim replacement Igor Tudor having made way for current gaffer Roberto De Zerbi – is former Tottenham and England winger Chris Waddle, who is demanding fundamental changes at his old side.

“It's been coming over the years,” says Waddle, speaking on behalf of Prime Casino, an online casino with a wide range of games, including a Football Slot Game. “You know, Tottenham have been very good at buying young players, developing them and selling them on. This has been their way of doing well for the club, let's be honest. I don't get it. There has to be more.
“Today, they've got the best stadium in the world, they've got the best training facility in the world, if not one of the best, and I think Tottenham and their philosophy of the game and how they think has got to change.
“They've got to buy top players and get the best out of them,” continues Waddle, who made 138 league appearances for Spurs between 1985 and 1989.
“They need to be more ruthless. When players aren't playing the best and starting to go down in level, that's when you've got to cash in on them, or you say, ‘Thank you very much, but it's time for you to go.’”
Waddle is fed up with his old club sacking managers, only to end up with the same old issues.
“You can’t keep blaming managers,” he tells FourFourTwo. “They’ve had a succession of top managers, from Antonio Conte to Jose Mourinho, and it’s been the same old story every time. At some stage you have to look elsewhere.”
Waddle believes Spurs will be relegated this season unless they can add more attacking verve to their game.
“It looks at the minute to be between Tottenham and West Ham,” he says. “In the recent game against Wolves (a 1-0 victory), the work effort was there. They really did try and play on the front foot, but I felt for De Zerbi, because they didn't have anything in the final third.
“There was no creativity, and if you're not creating, maybe it's time to introduce James Madison back into the team – he’s been on the bench lately.
“Maybe it's time to give him a run out and tell him the creativity side needs addressing.”
