Arsenal handed shocking ticket allocation for Champions League final

Arsenal fans will be celebrating their win over Atletico Madrid for some time, but they face a battle to get tickets for the Champions League Final.

A hard-fought 1-0 win at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night saw Mikel Arteta's side progress to the final and their long wait for Europe's top prize may soon be over.

They'll face either Bayern Munich or PSG in the final at the end of May, but there won't be as many Arsenal fans at the Puskás Aréna as you may think.

While much of Arsenal's focus is on the Premier League now, many fans will be planning ahead for their trip to the Champions League final in Budapest.

The Puskás Aréna has a capacity of 67,215, but as per the official Arsenal website it seems less than 17,000 of those in the stadium will be Gunners fans.

A statement on the club site says: "We have received an allocation of 16,824 General Admission tickets for this fixture, which will be located in the North Side of the stadium."

Ticket prices start at €70 (£60) and go all the way up to €950 (£821) for Category 1 tickets.

The club states it is working with UEFA to "ensure as many supporters as possible can attend the game" but it remains to be seen whether any more tickets will be made available.

Assuming Arsenal's opponents in the final get a similar allocation, that would leave around 33,000 tickets for other spectators in the ground.

Arsenal fans will have the opportunity to watch the game at the Emirates, ranked at No.11 in FourFourTwo's list of the best football stadiums in Britain, though. A screen is being installed there for the match on May 30 with ticket details to follow.

Arsenal fans will be keeping a close eye on the second leg between Bayern Munich and PSG on Wednesday night to see who their opponent will be in the final.

Given the incredible nine-goal thriller between the two teams last week, the Gunners will have their work cut out regardless of which team progresses.

Arsenal's next fixture, meanwhile, is a Premier League clash with London rivals West Ham on Sunday, May 10.
