Arsenal playmaker Andrei Arshavin will be in the starting line-up for Russia's World Cup qualifiers against Azerbaijan on Saturday and Liechtenstein next week, coach Guus Hiddink confirmed on Tuesday.
The former Zenit St Petersburg forward has been in impressive form since arriving at the Emirates Stadium at the end of the winter transfer window, making seven first-team appearances for the Gunners and scoring his first goal for Arsene Wenger's side in spectacular style against Blackburn Rovers. "I spoke to him yesterday (Monday) and he's in great shape," Hiddink - who is also currently temporary coach of Chelsea - told reporters about Arshavin, who had been nursing a foot injury sustained last week playing for Arsenal.
