BEIJING - China's Changchun made the most of their home advantage to thrash Indonesia's Persipura Jayapura 9-0 in a Asian Champions League tie played in temperatures of minus six degrees Celsius on Tuesday.

Costa Rican Johnny Woodly Lambert and Gao Jian both got hat-tricks, while substitute Liu Weidong nabbed two goals and Wang Bo rounded out the scoring at the Jingkai Stadium in northern China.

Temperatures in Jayapura, which is on the island of New Guinea, range between 22 and 32 degrees Celsius throughout the year.
