West Brom will be looking to build on their draw at Anfield when they welcome Leeds to The Hawthorns on Tuesday.
Sam Allardyce picked up his first point as Baggies boss in surprise circumstances, as the visitors to Merseyside held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw. Allardyce is now the last opposing manager to both win and draw a game at Anfield, having emerged victorious while in charge of Crystal Palace in April 2017. West Brom sat deep and packed men behind the ball on Sunday, and were rewarded when Semi Ajayi popped up with a late equaliser after Sadio Mane had opened the scoring. West Brom remain in the bottom three heading into this game but they will be buoyed by their display against the champions.
Following their 6-2 thrashing by Manchester United the previous weekend, Leeds were involved in a quieter game on Sunday. Patrick Bamford’s early penalty was the difference as Marcelo Bielsa’s side beat Burnley 1-0, although the Clarets were unfortunate to have a goal chalked off. That win moved Leeds onto 20 points, with a healthy cushion of nine above the bottom three. Bielsa continues to do things his way, and those methods are paying dividends for a club contesting its first Premier League season in more than 15 years.
Jake Livermore is suspended and will play no part here, while Conor Townsend, Hal Robson-Kanu and Kyle Bartley are all injured. Allardyce opted for a 4-5-1 formation against Liverpool but could opt for a more attacking system on Tuesday, with the wide men likely to take up more advanced positions in support of Karlan Grant.
Leeds captain Liam Cooper is a doubt for this fixture, so Pascal Struijk looks set to continue alongside Luke Ayling at centre-back. Adam Forshaw and Gaetano Berardi are long-term absentees, while neither Diego Llorente nor Robin Koch is ready to return.
