ALGIERS - Algeria have recalled Chadli Amri and Rafik Djebbour to their squad for a World Cup warmup international against Serbia on March 3, the Algeria Football Federation said on Sunday.
Both players were left out of the squad for last month's African Nations Cup finals, where Algeria reached the semi-finals.
Coach Rabah Saadane also handed the chance of a first cap to French-born Mehdi Lacen, who plays for Racing Santander in Spain and who refused several previous invitations during the World Cup qualifiers.
Goalkeeper Lounes Gaouaoui, who had to miss the Nations Cup after an injury sustained on the eve of the tournament, is back in the squad.
Next month's match in Algiers forms part of Algeria's warmup schedule for the World Cup in South Africa, where they are grouped with England, Slovenia and the United States in the opening round.
