Manchester United v Aston Villa live stream: how to watch the Premier League wherever you are in the world
Watch a Manchester United v Aston Villa live stream, as the Red Devils look to maintain their fine form
Manchester United v Aston Villa live stream, Sky Sports, Friday 1 January, 8.00pm GMT
Manchester United and Aston Villa will both be looking to maintain their unbeaten runs when they meet at Old Trafford on New Year’s Day.
United left it late last time out, but Marcus Rashford’s deflected goal in second-half stoppage time earned them a 1-0 victory over Wolves. The Red Devils have now gone nine games unbeaten in the Premier League, seven of which have ended with them collecting all three points. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side go into this game in second place in the table, and a title challenge no longer looks entirely out of the question. United’s home form has picked up too, with back-to-back wins at Old Trafford against Leeds and Wolves.
Villa have their own unbeaten run to protect, with Dean Smith’s side having avoided defeat in their last five matches. They have only conceded one goal in that time - Olivier Giroud’s header for Chelsea last time out - and are arguably the most improved team in the Premier League this season. Only Manchester City have conceded fewer goals than Villa so far this term, while a new-look front three of Bertrand Traore, Ollie Watkins and Anwar El Ghazi provides plenty of firepower in the final third.
United will have to make do without long-term absentees Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones, but Victor Lindelof could return after missing the Wolves game. Even if the Sweden international is available, though, Solskjaer may opt to continue with Eric Bailly as Harry Maguire’s partner in the heart of the backline.
Villa will be unable to call upon the services of Trezeguet, who is still nursing a thigh injury. Wesley Moraes is closing in on a return from a knee problem, and Ross Barkley could be named in the matchday squad following his own spell on the sidelines. Tyrone Mings is also available again following a one-game suspension.
Kick-off is at 8.00pm GMT and the game is being shown on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football in the UK. See below for watching details where you are.

Use a VPN to watch a Manchester United v Aston Villa live stream from outside your country
If you’re on holiday or just simply out of the country, your domestic on-demand services won’t work – the broadcaster knows exactly where you are from your IP address. Your access to the game will be automatically blocked, which is annoying if you’ve paid a subscription fee and don't want to use an illegal, buffering stream that makes you miss another Jose Mourinho tantrum. And that's where we recommend ExpressVPN (more on which below).
All you need to do is get a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to get beyond such aggravations (assuming it complies with your broadcaster’s T&Cs). A VPN creates a private connection between your device and the internet, meaning suppliers can’t work out where you are and what you’re doing. The info going to and from is entirely encrypted.
There are plenty of options out there, including:
ExpressVPN
Including a 30-day, money-back guarantee

NordVPN
Including a 30-day, money-back guarantee
A cheaper option; its cheapest package current averages at a wallet-friendly £2.29 per month.
IPVanish
Including a 30-day, money-back guarantee
Slightly more expensive but supports up to 10 devices, and you can pay for it every three months if you need to.
