Ronaldo sidelined with broken hand setback

RIO DE JANEIRO - Brazil's Ronaldo will be out for five to six weeks after suffering a double fracture in his left hand, Corinthians' team doctor Paulo de Faria said on Monday.

The striker was injured midway through the first half of Corinthians' 3-0 defeat by Palmeiras in their Brazilian championship derby on Sunday.

De Faria told the club's website that Ronaldo would have more tests this week to determine whether he needed surgery on the hand.

He added, however, that "in a week, at the latest 15 days, he will be back training normally, only avoiding contact."
