Alba glad to move on from Luis Enrique as he looks forward to Valverde tenure
Barcelona full-back Jordi Alba is excited to work under Ernesto Valverde at Camp Nou.
Jordi Alba is sure he will enjoy a better time under new Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde after growing frustrated during Luis Enrique's spell.
Alba, 28, made no secret of his frustrations during the season after dropping out of Luis Enrique's starting XI as the Barca boss opted for a three-man defence.
The Spain international full-back featured in 26 LaLiga matches as Barca were dethroned by Real Madrid.
But now with Valverde in charge following his arrival from Athletic Bilbao, the future looks brighter for Alba.
"I'm very happy with the arrival of Valverde; I think he is a brave coach," Alba said via Marca.
"He likes to play the right way with the ball. I've spoken to friends about him and they all spoke well of him.
"I'm sure that I can do better than I did with Luis Enrique because last season, I didn't have the minutes that I wanted and I want to be better.
