Brown slams scandalous FA charges

LONDON - Hull City manager Phil Brown described FA charges against his Premier League club as 'scandalous' on Thursday.

The Football Association charged Hull and Arsenal on Wednesday with failing to control their players after a fracas during their Premier League game at the Emirates Stadium last week.

Players from both sides became involved in a mass confrontation after Arsenal's midfielder Samir Nasri appeared to tread on the foot of Hull's Richard Garcia in the second half of Arsenal's 3-0 win.

"For us to come under criticism is absolutely scandalous and we'll be defending it," Brown told the BBC.

"We conducted ourselves in the right manner right the way through the game.

"There was an incident where for some reason - and I can't answer the accusations against Nasri - he decided to light the touchpaper. We had no say in that matter whatsoever."
