Gudjohnsen seals Monaco move

PARIS - Iceland striker Eidur Gudjohnsen has joined Monaco from Barcelona on a two-year contract, the Ligue 1 club said on Monday.

The 30-year-old, who joined the Spanish club in 2006 after six seasons at Chelsea, no longer played any part in Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola's plans.

The much-travelled Gudjohnsen, who has also had spells at PSV Eindhoven and Bolton Wanderers, has moved for an undisclosed transfer fee, Monaco said on its website.
