Boyd hits five in Rangers romp

Rangers striker Kris Boyd became the Scottish Premier League's all-time leading scorer in spectacular fashion on Wednesday as he scored five goals in a 7-1 thrashing of Dundee United.

Boyd's haul took his tally to 160 - two ahead of former Celtic striker Henrik Larsson but he remains well short of the all-time Scottish League scoring record of 410 goals established between 1922 and 1938 by Jimmy McGrory of Celtic and Clydebank.

Boyd also remains outside the Scottish international set-up having refused to play under former manager Craig Burley.

Rangers' victory stretched their lead over Celtic to seven points ahead of Sunday's Old Firm clash.
