Casillas backs talismanic Beckham
Spain captain Iker Casillas has described former Real Madrid colleague David Beckham as a talismanic figure for England.
The former Real Madrid team-mates are set to go head-to-head in Seville on Wednesday night as England face Euro 2008 champions Spain, with Beckham expected to make his 108th appearance for his country, equalling the record for an outfield player set by 1966 World Cup-winning captain Bobby Moore.
"When he plays for England, Beckham makes a difference," said Casillas, who will win his 89th cap for Spain.
"He brought a lot of character to Real and helped us win the league after not winning anything for three or four years."
