Rangers duo Jermain Defoe and Nikola Katic escape punishment

Rangers pair Jermain Defoe and Nikola Katic will not face punishment following incidents during Sunday’s win over Aberdeen.

Former England striker Defoe was involved in a first-half collision with Dons goalkeeper Joe Lewis.

The Croatian – who was tripped by Lewis Ferguson for Gers’ opening spot-kick – went down clutching his face after he was struck by Andrew Considine’s flailing arm.

But his reaction infuriated Dons boss Derek McInnes, who claimed Katic “should hang his head in shame” after insisting he had “kidded” Robertson into pointing to the spot.
