Josue extends Wolfsburg stay

BERLIN - Bundesliga leaders VfL Wolfsburg have extended captain Josue's contract for two years until 2013, the club said on Wednesday.

Brazil international Josue has been a driving force in midfield alongside Zvjezdan Misimovic, feeding strikers Edin Dzeko and Grafite for a combined 51 league goals and guiding Wolfsburg to within one match of the title.

"I want to continue playing a part in Wolfsburg's successful path," Josue said.

Wolfsburg lead by two points and a victory against Werder Bremen on Saturday would clinch their first German championship.
