Eboue agent rubbishes Roma reports
The agent of Arsenal's Ivory Coast international Emmanuel Eboue has rubbished reports that that the player will be leaving the club to join Roma at the end of the season.
The 26-year-old right-sided defender turned winger has enjoyed a successful season so far for the Emirates Stadium outfit, banishing the bad memories of December 2008 when he was infamously substituted having already come on for the injured Samir Nasri and booed off by the home crowd.
Nevertheless, the former Beveren wide-man - who has made more than 100 league appearances for the Gunners since arriving in 2005 - continues to be linked with a move away from North London.
Roma sporting director Daniele Prade was reportedly present for Arsenal's 5-0 drubbing of Porto in the Champions League on Tuesday - in which Eboue scored the Gunners' fourth goal - sparking speculation that the Giallorossi are keen to recruit him in the summer.
However, the player's representitive Franjo Vranjkovic insists Eboue is happy at Arsenal and will be going nowhere.
"It's not true that my client is close to Roma. Emmanuel is happy in England and he is in a good position. I don't understand why these things come out in Italy," he told Romagiallorossa.com.
"Roma have not had contact with myself or our staff and I can say with assurance that the player is happy in England, and it's difficult to think he will move."
