Mido missing from Egypt squad

"He (Mido) was excluded due to a tactical point of view," Shawki Gharib, Egypt's assistant coach, told Reuters.

Mido, on loan from English Premier League rivals Middlesbrough, had been left out of the squad named on Thursday despite a dearth of attacking options.

Egypt will also be without forward Emad Meteb, sidelined due to knee injury.

Mido, a former Tottenham Hotspur striker who has scored two goals for Wigan since joining in January, will miss World Cup qualifiers against Algeria on June 7 and Rwanda on July 5.
