Dunfermline Athletic were readmitted to the Scottish Cup on Thursday after being expelled last week for bringing on a banned player in a fourth round match they won 7-1.
An appeal hearing ruled Dunfermline should replay the match against Stenhousemuir at a date to be confirmed and pay a 20,000 pounds fine for fielding the ineligible Calum Woods.
The club, who were 4-0 up when Woods came on in the 61st minute, were also fined 1,000 pounds for submitting an inaccurate team line-up and forfeited their appearance fee.
Scottish FA chief executive Gordon Smith was surprised by the success of the appeal but added:
"Nonetheless, we respect the decision of the Appeals Board and hope the situation involving Dunfermline Athletic, and the sanctions imposed on them tonight, will ensure all participating clubs are mindful of the cup competition rules in future."
