Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso will be leaving the club for pastures new this summer, according to reports in Portugal.
The 23-year-old, who has been capped seven times by his country, has long been linked with a string of Premier League sides, including Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City, Everton, Aston Villa and Bolton.
After recently announcing he would be interested in a move abroad to further his career, Sporting fans reacted angrily, booing the player on a regular basis and daubing unsavoury graffiti at the club's training ground.
And Portuguese newspaper O Jogo claims that the player has now notified club officials of his desire to move on, as well as instructing his agent, Paulo Barbosa, to find him a new team ahead of the 2009/10 campaign. Veloso, who has made 66 league appearances for the Estádio José Alvalade outfit since bursting on to the first-team scene in 2006, is expected to be available for around €10 million.
