Marseille clear schedule for Real showdown

PARIS - A Ligue 1 game between Olympique Marseille and Sochaux has been postponed to help Marseille prepare for their decisive game against Real Madrid in Champions League Group C, the French League (LFP) said on Thursday.

"(The French League) has postponed the game between Olympique Marseille and Sochaux which was scheduled on December 2 to a later date," the LFP said in a statement, without giving a new date.

"This decision...has been made to put Marseille in the best conditions before their crucial game against Real Madrid."

Marseille will go through to the knockout phase of the Champions League if they beat Real Madrid 3-0 or by a four-goal margin on December 8.
