Bedoya uses goal celebration to demand action on gun violence

Philadelphia Union captain Alejandro Bedoya called on the US Congress to strengthen gun laws during his side’s 5-1 Major League Soccer victory at DC United on Sunday.

Bedoya shouted “Congress, do something now. End gun violence!” into a field microphone after scoring the Union’s opening goal in the third minute, in response to mass shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio over the weekend.
