Derby face ‘devastating’ points deduction after applying to enter administration

Derby face the prospect of plunging to the bottom of the Sky Bet Championship after confirmation arrived that they will be handed a 12-point penalty following their declaration they have filed notice to appoint administrators.

The Rams said they “had no choice but to make the tough decision” due to “a number of developments”, including a failure to identify new owners and the continuing impact of Covid-19 on revenue streams.
