Guardiola won't win with City playing like Barca, warns Campo

Former Real Madrid and Bolton Wanderers defender Ivan Campo believes there are no guarantees for Pep Guardiola when it comes to Premier League success at Manchester City.

Guardiola won his first 10 competitive matches in charge of City but the ex-Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss has since found the going tougher, with damaging defeats to Chelsea and Leicester City earlier this month checking their title bid.

"The football that he lives for is different than the Premier League," said the 42-year-old, who was capped four times by Spain.

"For example, when you touch the ball in Barcelona, in England it is very different.

"The football is more fast, more fight. The problem is that if you want to play in the Premier League the same as Barcelona probably you will lose.

"And now he's living a very difficult moment in the Premier league because Guardiola is saying, 'Okay, if I play the same that we play in Barcelona I will win'. But in the Premier League it is very different."
