Joe Cole suffers knee setback
LONDON - Chelsea and England midfielder Joe Cole, out of action with a serious knee injury since January, has undergone another operation, the Premier League club said on Thursday.
Cole will miss the club's pre-season trip to the United States after having minor surgery to correct a small meniscus tear in his right knee.
"In light of his previous surgery, excellent rehab and recent return to full training, this is only a minor setback and we expect Cole to return to full training in approximately one month," the club's website said.
Cole ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in an FA Cup tie against Southend United in January.
