Previews: Berbatov may miss Spurs return

LONDON - Brief injury news before this weekend's Premier League matches:

Manchester United's former Tottenham Hotspur duo Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Carrick face late fitness tests before Saturday's visit to White Hart Lane.

Cristiano Ronaldo returns after missing Wednesday's Champions League draw with AaB Aalborg but striker Wayne Rooney and defender Patrice Evra are both suspended.

Middlesbrough defenders Justin Hoyte and Andrew Taylor are both doubtful for Saturday's match at home to Arsenal with knee injuries.

Centre-back David Wheater is suspended, striker Mido and midfielder Gary O'Neil are both out, but Robert Huth (ankle) and Chris Riggott (hamstring) could return from injury.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger could have five first team players back for the game.

Defenders Gael Clichy (hamstring) and Bacary Sagna (flu), strikers Emmanuel Adebayor (rested) and Robin van Persie (thigh) and captain Cesc Fabregas (knee) should all be available.

Defender Kolo Toure (calf) and midfielder Samir Nasri (ankle) will miss out.

Manchester City manager Mark Hughes hopes to have strikers Robinho and Daniel Sturridge back for the visit of Everton on Saturday.

Everton full-back Tony Hibbert, who has made only four appearances this season, returns after a thigh injury.

Sunderland captain Dean Whitehead is expected to recover from a thigh injury for the visit of West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

Fellow midfielder Kieran Richardson returns from suspension but goalkeeper Craig Gordon (ankle) and defender George McCartney (foot) are still injured.

Newcastle United may have midfield trio Danny Guthrie, Nicky Butt and Damien Duff back from injury for their away match at Portsmouth on Sunday.
