Twente close gap on leaders PSV

PSV remain top with 62 points after 24 matches but Twente Enschede reduced the gap to one point with a 1-0 home win over lowly Willem II Tilburg.

Otman Bakkal opened the scoring for PSV after 14 minutes, set up by Balazs Dzsudzsak, but PSV wasted a handful of chances to settle the match before the interval.

Central defender Peter Wisgerhof struck nine minutes into the second half to earn Steve McClaren's Twente the win over Tilburg, who sacked coach Alfons Groenendijk on Friday.

Ajax Amsterdam, 4-0 winners against Vitesse Arnhem, are third on 55 points, while Feyenoord remain fourth with 44 after a 2-2 draw at home against ADO Den Haag.

Ajax secured victory in the first half with goals within nine minutes from Siem de Jong and Luis Suarez, plus an own goal by Paul Verhaegh. De Jong added his second after the break.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst scored an own goal to put ADO ahead but Georginio Wijnaldum equalised for Feyenoord midway through the first half.

Jon Dahl Tomasson netted a rebound 14 minutes before time to give the home side the lead, but three minutes into injury time former Feyenoord player Danny Buijs salvaged a point for the visitors.
