Sanchez hoping to stay in Spain

MADRID - Hugo Sanchez, who was sacked as coach of La Liga club Almeria in December, is hoping for a job offer from a Spanish club but does not rule out coaching outside the country, he was quoted as saying on Saturday.

"I am waiting for an interesting offer in the summer from a club in the Spanish league, because if there is one thing I am sure about it's that I want to continue in Spanish football," the former Real Madrid and Mexico striker said in an interview with Marca sports daily.

"I am not ruling out a decent proposal that might arrive from outside (Spain), but I miss the best league in the world, the Spanish one, and that's the priority," he added.
