Advocaat celebrates first Alkmaar success
ROTTERDAM - Feyenoord earned a 1-0 home win over Willem II Tilburg on Saturday while Dick Advocaat celebrated his first win as AZ Alkmaar coach when his new side beat lowly ADO Den Haag 3-0 in the Dutch league.
Feyenoord striker Roy Makaay set up Ivorian Sekou Cisse with an excellent long ball after 12 minutes to secure a victory that leaves them in fourth place with 37 points, just one point behind Ajax Amsterdam.
Advocaat's side lost at his former club PSV Eindhoven in the Belgium coach's first game back in the Dutch league last weekend but goals by Rasmus Elm, Sebastien Pocognoli and Maarten Martens wrapped up victory over Den Haag who remain third from bottom.
Alkmaar remain seventh on 28 points.
