Baptista denies return rumours
Roma forward Julio Baptista says he wants to stay at the Serie A club next season, despite reports linking him with a return to the Premier League.
The 27-year-old - nicknamed The Beast - made 24 league appearances on loan at Arsenal during the 2006/07 season, netting six times - before joining Roma on a permanent basis from Real Madrid last summer.
The Brazilian international scored nine league goals in 2008/09 as the Giallorossi qualified for the UEFA Europa League.
And the forward has insisted he is happy to stay at the Stadio Olimpico, amid reports suggesting he is set to return to England and link up with fellow countrymen Robinho and Elano at Manchester City.
"I am not thinking about leaving Roma," he said ahead of Brazil's Confederations Cup clash with USA in South Africa.
"I signed a four-year contract with Roma and I want to remain and help the team do better with respect to last season.
"Our aim will be to return to the Champions League."
