Chamakh makes London move
Much sought-after Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh is believed to be in London hoping to push through a dream move to Arsenal this summer.
The Moroccan international, who has netted 15 time for his country, has been the subject of one of the longest running transfer sagas of the summer.
Chamakh, whose 13 goals last season helped secure a first league title in 10 years for les Girondins, has made no secret of his desire to leave the Stade Chaban Delmas, with the player claiming to have agreed terms with Sunderland, Fulham, Blackburn Rovers and Tottenham Hotspur.
Bordeaux boss Laurent Blanc has since insisted that he will not allow his prize asset to depart for the Stadium of Light, as he does not consider the Wearsiders to be a big enough club.
And although the Gunners have also reportedly seen a £5 million bid for the front-man labelled 'ridiculous' by club president Jean-Louis Triaud, he is now thought to have crossed the Channel in the hope of completing a deal.
The striker was absent for the French club's pre-season clash with Villarreal on Sunday, although Blanc insisted the front-man missed the game due to illness.
"I received a phone call on Saturday evening. He told me he was sick and I am forced to believe it," he said.
