Dortmund's Schurrle not joining struggling Cologne, says agent
Borussia Dortmund forward Andre Schurrle will not join Cologne's battle against relegation, with speculation over a January move dismissed.
Andre Schurrle's agent has ruled out a loan switch for the Borussia Dortmund forward to Bundesliga basement boys Cologne.
The start of Schurrle's 2017-18 campaign has been ruined by a thigh injury but he returned to action as a second-half substitute in this week's 5-0 DFB Pokal win over Magdeburg.
Dortmund head coach Peter Bosz has a plethora of attacking options at his disposal, meaning regular action might not be easily obtained by the Germany forward ahead of next year's World Cup.
Cologne are winless after nine games of the Bundesliga season and have only scored three goals.
Reinforcements during the January transfer window would appear to be a must but Schurrle's representative Ingo Haspel insists the 26-year-old will not be a part of that conversation.
"There is no offer for a loan from Cologne," he told RevierSport, in response to a story published by Kicker on Thursday.
"This story belongs to the realms of fables."

Dortmund are top of the Bundesliga on goal difference ahead of rivals Bayern Munich but travel to Hannover on Saturday without a win in their previous two league matches.
Schurrle was part of the Germany side that won the 2014 World Cup and has scored 22 times in 57 appearances for his country.
