Fabio Capello Britain's richest manager
England coach Fabio Capello continues to enjoy success both on and off the pitch, with the Italian was named the wealthiest manager in UK football.
The latest edition of the Football Rich List, released today on FourFourTwo.com, shows that while ‘The Don’ has transformed the fortunes of the Three Lions from failure to qualify for Euro 2008 to faultless progression to the 2010 World Cup, his bank-balance is also heading in the right direction.
With a £6.5 million annual salary – money that now appears to have been very well spent by the FA as next summer’s global showpiece edges nearer – the former AC Milan and Real Madrid head-honcho’s £17 million art collection ensures his value has reached the £30 million milestone.
Domestically, Ipswich Town boss Roy Keane has fended former boss Sir Alex Ferguson off to claim second spot, despite his position at Portman Road growing more tricky by the day with the Tractor Boys yet to register their first win of the season.
Two new entries make up the remainder of the top five, following the much-anticipated appointment of Carlo Ancelotti at Chelsea and Sven-Göran Eriksson’s shock switch to League Two Notts County.
