Fernando Caceres shot in head

Caceres, who helped Argentina win the 1993 Copa America and played at the 1994 World Cup, was at the wheel of his BMW car when he was shot in a possible attempted robbery, police sources added.

The 40-year-old, who was in intensive care, won an Argentine league title with River Plate in 1991 and the King's Cup in 1994 and European Cup Winners Cup in 1995 with Real Zaragoza.
