MADRID - Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo has been called up to the Spain squad for their upcoming 2010 World Cup qualifiers away to Armenia and Bosnia, the Spanish federation said on their website on Tuesday.

Coach Vicente del Bosque has already lost Valencia's David Villa to injury, and after the side's first training session on Tuesday Spanish media reported Fenerbahce forward Daniel Guiza was struggling with a knee complaint.
The uncapped Negredo, 24, joined Sevilla from Real Madrid in August for a reported fee of around 15 million euros and has made a quick impression, helping the Andalucians win their last seven consecutive games in all competitions.
Spain, who have already secured the top spot in Group Five and a place in the finals in South Africa, take on Armenia in Yerevan on October 10. and second-placed Bosnia in Zenica four days later.
