Previews: Wendel out for rest of season
PARIS - Brief news from Ligue 1 before this weekend's matches.
Girondins Bordeaux midfielder Wendel has been ruled out of the rest of the season because of the knee injury he picked up in last month's League Cup final, the club said on their website.
"This kind of injury requires between six and eight weeks of treatment," the statement read.
Second-placed Bordeaux take on Le Mans on Saturday.
St Etienne striker Ilan is doubtful for Saturday's home game against Toulouse, coach Alain Perrin told sports daily L'Equipe on Friday.
St Etienne, in 17th place, are only two points above the relegation zone with three matches remaining.
The final sprint in the Ligue 1 title race is becoming unbearable, according to Olympique Marseille's sports director.
"The stress is becoming unbearable. On our way back from the Nice game (on Wednesday), we were worn down," Jose Anigo told L'Equipe.

Marseille, who host seven-times champions Olympique Lyon on Sunday, are top of the standings, ahead of Girondins Bordeaux on goal difference.
Paris St Germain officials should be quicker to find a replacement for coach Paul Le Guen, defender Sylvain Armand said before his side entertain Auxerre on Saturday.
Le Guen will leave at the end of the season after his contract was not renewed.
"It really wears you down. What will the (next) coach do, with which players, it is important for us to know," Armand told a news conference.
PSG lie fourth in the standings, one point behind third-placed Lyon.
